Lesson #10 Ten Times Perfect Exercise and Rule
In Lesson #9 we talked about the major scale pattern. If you’ve been playing around with that you’re probably starting to see just home important practicing is. You’ll miss a note here and there and may find that you even need to start a little bit slower then the beats per minute that Lane On Bass uses in his demonstration. If you don’t have a drum machine or a metronome at home a couple of ideas are to grab an app for your smart phone if you have a Blackberry, iPhone or Android powered phone. If not you can use this free online metronome to keep the beat for you.
In today’s lesson Lane on Bass is going to talk about the ten times perfect exercise. This isn’t so much a new exercise on its own as it is a way to tell when you’re ready to move on to the next skill on the instrument. When you can play the exercise ten times perfect at particular tempo then you’re ready to bump it up, but don’t go too fast too quick. Take your time, remember patience pays big dividends later on.
